House for Sale!

This post is for those who have shown interest in purchasing our home. We absolutely love our house. We're biased, but we really love our neighborhood and I don't think anyone could ask for better neighbors.

The house is 3,111 finished square feet and was built in 2007. Since it's at the bottom of the street there is very little traffic, only from the few houses around us. There are 5 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms. In what follows below, we'll do our best to walk you through the house.

When you walk in through the front door, there is a nice entry area with tall ceilings and a chandelier. The dining room is to the right and there's a half bath to the left. There is also a coat closet around the corner.

The layout is open and the living room ceiling is high, which lets in a lot of natural light. The upper windows in the living room have remote control blinds we put in about 2 years ago, so you can shut those if it gets too sunny. The living room is also wired for surround sound and has in-wall speakers (as well as outdoor speakers on the deck). There are hardwood floors throughout the entryway, dining room, and living room. The kitchen and mudroom have tile. The bedrooms and basement are all carpeted. The fireplace is gas and turns on with the flick of a switch.

When we moved in 2 ½ years ago, we had all of the cabinets professionally painted white. We also added the 3 upper cabinets and a lower set of drawers on the left side of the kitchen. There is a very large, wrap-around deck that you can access from the sliding doors in the kitchen or a door next to the mudroom. Half of the deck is covered. We had it refinished about 2 months ago.

Both the fridge and the dishwasher were purchased within the last year. They have a slate finish, which is magnetic and doesn't streak like stainless steel. It's a lot easier to clean and looks beautiful.

The master bedroom is located on the main floor off of the living room. It is spacious, has a high ceiling, and has a large bathroom and closet. There is a jetted tub, separate shower, and a separate toilet room.

The mudroom/laundry room is directly to the right when you enter the house from the garage, which is really convenient. It has a lot of storage. The house is also fully wired for a security system that we put in 2 years ago.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms and a full bath with double sinks and a separate room with the toilet and bath. There is also a large storage closet in the bathroom. The bedrooms are all spacious and have lots of storage space in the closets.

The basement is a great place to hang out or to send the kids to play. J It is a walkout basement, so the ceilings are high and there are a lot of windows. The fifth bedroom is in the basement, with its own full bathroom. There is also a wet bar, and the basement is wired for surround sound. A John Deere room is on one side to either park your riding lawn mower or use as a little bedroom for a dog.

My favorite thing about the basement is the huge storage room. This adds a lot of square feet that isn’t included in the total.

The house has two separate AC units (one for the main floor/basement and one for upstairs). We installed Nest thermostats for both units about a year ago, and they help reduce utility costs.
One of the things we fell in love with about the house is the backyard. There is a lot of privacy because of the greenbelt behind the house. The fence goes around the entire backyard with a gate on the side that goes to the front yard and a gate in the back that goes to the woods. We had the fence re-stained since this picture was taken.

We have a small garden, with a fence to keep out rabbits/pets:

In the fall and winter when the trees have lost their leaves we get to see a lot of gorgeous sunsets:

We cleared a path in the woods behind our house for the kids to play back there in the fall/winter/spring. You can access the neighborhood park from the other side of the woods.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We hope you love our home as much as we have!
