Sleeping Gavin
Gavin loves to sleep and we love when he does. He generally prefers to be held, but he's happy pretty much anywhere.

The happiest day of my life...
...was when I married Brant. Right up there, though, is when we went to see Wicked. It was amazing! We bought tickets back in November so we've been looking forward to it for almost a year. It was even better than I thought it would be. Brant loved it too. Definitely go and see it if you have a chance.
Spencer Blake
Spencer is constantly making up songs. Yesterday he was singing the treat song. It goes a little something like this, "I love treats, I love treats, I love treats". My favorite is the I love you song. "I love you, I love you, I love you". He's also always going places. When he finds Daddy's tie he puts it on and says, "Bye, Mommy. I go to church." When he puts on his pirate hat he says he's going to his pirate ship. He also goes to the library a lot since he always has his books.
Spencer gets so excited when his friends Riley and Lucy come over and play! Jumping on a couch with good friends, it doesn't get much better than that.
Spencer throwing the blackberries into the blender for our milkshake. He and Brant have a lot of fun in the kitchen.
One cool dude
Spencer looking longingly out the window. We're stuck inside a lot since our little baby loves to eat as often as possible. I made this little backpack for him. As I was sewing it he kept saying how it was a backpack for his horse. Sure enough, when I gave it to him he opened it up, put his toy horse in, closed it, and wore it until nap time. I guess his horse needed a special place to live.
I know it's mean when moms do this, but I couldn't resist putting a potty picture on. It's just so cute. He has yet to go potty in his potty, but he sure likes to sit on it (as long as he has a good book to read).
Big brother, little brother
We got Spencer a "Big Brother" shirt when Gavin was born and then I found a "Little Brother" shirt for Gavin. Gavin doesn't seem too thrilled in this picture. Life's hard when you can't sit up yet.
Spencer was showing Gavin one of our yard sale finds (a pair of goggles to go in his dress up kit). He loves to hold his hand.
I did a little photo session of Gavin on a blanket and as soon as I moved him Spencer jumped up on the blanket for his turn. I'll happily take pictures of cute Spencer anytime.

Zoo time
We ventured out to the zoo yesterday. We got there as early as we could trying to avoid the heat and humidity that worsen as the day goes on. It wasn't too bad until the walk back to the car. Spencer fell asleep in the stroller like he always does after a lot of playing. He then slept another 2 hours at home which means it was a successful trip.
I was going to take a picture of Spencer next to this dog and I thought he would give me a smile. Instead he was posing just like the dog is, squatting with his tongue sticking out. This kid cracks me up all the time. We've been working on counting lately and for some reason Spencer always says, "1,2,3,4,7,5,6,7". I think he just really likes 7 because it gets in there twice. He also loves to be held and cuddled (which we love) so he's always saying, "I hold you" meaning we need to hold him. He's starting to add "me" at the end ("I hold you me") because I think he's realizing that something's not quite right with his pronouns.
We love food!
This was Gavin's first trip to the zoo. He was not impressed.
Our cute Gavin seems to be growing so fast.

Watermelon
I think watermelon is one of the best things about summer. Even though I eat it all of the time, Spencer had yet to even try it. A few days ago as I was cutting one into little cubes, Spencer announced that he wanted some 'wawamelon' (we're still working on the word 'water'). I put some in a bowl for him not expecting him to eat any. He often asks for strawbabies or bluebabies, but never really eats them. For some reason he was born with an aversion to fresh fruits and vegetables. (He literally gagged on a carrot he tried last week.) Anyway, he did end up taking a bite of the watermelon and loved it! He ate the whole bowl full and asked for another. It made me so happy!
We love that smile!

Cute boys
We're so in love with our two little guys. Spencer loves to do everything like Daddy does. Here he is wearing Brant's new Australian cowboy hat (his dad got it for him at the fair). Brant does a really good job at encouraging Spencer to eat. Brant will take a big bite and call it a "Simba bite" (from the Lion King) and then Spence will take a big "Simba bite". Spencer then growls the entire time he chews. This goes on at dinner until Spencer's eaten a good amount of his food.
Gavin is growing fast. He's starting to get little rolls on his arms and legs which we love. He still loves to sleep and gives us a few hours of sleep in a row most nights.
