Grow grass, grow

Brant planted some grass seed in our yard this weekend. We're hoping to replace the part of the lawn that was torn up last summer to fix our water main. Brant is becoming quite the handyman this summer with all of his projects.

Yard Sale!

Last weekend we had our very first yard sale. It was awesome! By the time we took this picture, people had purchased most of our junk. I couldn't believe how many people came. We got to spend the day outside talking and made some extra cash for things we didn't want anymore. I think we'll do one every year.

Ohio Trip

We got to spend the last week of April visiting Brant's parents in Columbus. It was the perfect time to go because the flowers and trees were all in bloom.

We spent the weekend at Brant's parent's cabin about an hour away from Columbus. We relaxed and spent some time there with our friends Ross and Katy who also stayed at the cabin. Spencer got to go on his first canoe trip (and so did I)!
It was great to see Brant's parents and by the end of the trip Spencer was getting attached to them. Hopefully, he'll still remember them when they visit in June.

Spencer's first Easter

Spencer was going for the Peeps, but luckily, he couldn't get them open. Brant and I each got a game for Easter and then Brant got some Peeps and a chocolate bunny. A week before Easter I bought a couple of bags of candy (Butterfinger eggs and Reese's eggs), but they didn't quite make it to Easter. :)

Life update

We are all doing really well, especially now that we're getting over the bad cold that all three of us had the last 2 weeks. We appreciate health even more now.

Brant is keeping busy with school and work. He is in the Masters of Accounting program at BYU and has two semesters left after April. He gets excited about his audit homework and sometimes finds himself making spreadsheets just for fun. We've created a monster! He is working as a training coordinator at the MTC and is in charge of hiring and training all of the German teachers. He absolutely loves his job and we're so excited that in summer he will ONLY be working.

I am really enjoying staying home with Spencer. I have taken up scrapbooking and really have fun with it. I've also discovered how cool the library is and love getting a new book every three weeks. I've started running again now that I'm not pregnant anymore and plan to do a half-marathon this summer. My next goal is to become certified with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and do some personal or group training.

Spencer is as cute as ever. He is almost 6 months old and makes me and Brant crack up countless times everyday. He loves to smile and it doesn't take much to get a hearty laugh out of him. He just started rice cereal and will soon be moving on to sweet potatoes. I'm sure he's very excited.

We are really looking forward to summer and have some exciting things planned. Stay posted!

It's about time...

I figured it was about time to get bloggin'. Since most of our family and friends don't live nearby and I'm not the best at keeping in touch, I think this will be a good way to keep others posted on our lives. Be prepared for excitement, okay, well maybe not excitement, but some pretty darn cute pictures of Spencer. We might throw a few pictures of me and Brant in the mix, but Spencer definitely gets the most camera time.

We like the title Team Christensen because that's our family motto. We even have a little cheer, but we'll spare you the details. It's kind of cheesy, but that's what familyhood's all about. :)
